The Embassy of Japan opened the doors of the exhibition “Netsuke: Miniature Sculptures Carved in Wood” at the Carlos Colombino Cultural Center, located in Manzana de la Rivera, Asunción. The show, sponsored by the Japan Foundation, presents a collection of netsuke – small traditional Japanese sculptures made of wood – that combine ancient technique with contemporary carving approaches.
Visitors were able to appreciate the artisan mastery in works that transform wood into complex and expressive figures, revealing the richness of Japanese culture. The exhibition will be available to the public until June 13, offering a unique opportunity for immersion in Japanese art in the heart of Asunción.
