The Paraguayan stage production Nunca estuve en Dublín will bid farewell this weekend after a successful run in Asunción. Directed by Diego Mongelós, the play has its final performances on Friday, May 15 at 21:00, Saturday, May 16 at 21:00, and Sunday, May 17 at 20:00 at Arlequín Teatro (Antequera casi Rca. de Colombia), as reported by El Nacional.
The cast includes Silvio Rodas, Regina Bachero, Fran Gubetich, and Nicole Gubetich. The story centers on a daughter's return home after years away, accompanied by an unexpected guest named Cindy, which triggers confrontations that expose hidden desires, frustrations, and long-held silences. Mongelós describes the work as an acid comedy that is deeply human, where characters try to rebuild a functional family dynamic through reproaches and irony.
The play addresses universal themes such as generational conflict and the difficulty of communication within the private sphere. According to the director, the local adaptation aims to connect with Asunción audiences, following the success of the original work in theater circuits in Spain, Argentina, and Uruguay. The production is by GUB Produce and Arlequín Teatro. Tickets are available via the Tuti platform or at the theater box office.
