Olimpia returned to winning ways in the Torneo Apertura 2026 with a last-gasp 3-2 victory over Recoleta FC on Friday, May 15, at the Estadio del Club Deportivo Capiatá. The result snapped a three-game winless run for the Franjeado, who now sit on 46 points, while Recoleta remain eighth with 25 points, according to 1000 Noticias.
The hosts took the lead in the 38th minute through Eduardo Delmas. A cross from the left was headed by Rubén Lezcano into the path of Delmas, who nodded home from close range. Recoleta equalised six minutes into the second half when Kevin Parzajuk broke down the left and squared for Giuseppe Guggiari to finish first-time past goalkeeper Sebastián Lentinelly.
Olimpia regained the advantage in the 60th minute after a VAR review awarded them a penalty for a foul by Marcos Pereira on Hugo Quintana. Adrián Alcaraz converted low to the right, despite Andrés Marsengo diving the right way. Recoleta again levelled in the 67th minute when Brahian Ferreira capitalised on a poor clearance by Lentinelly and crossed for Allan Wlk to head home.
With the match seemingly heading for a draw, Olimpia struck in the 90th minute. Franco Alfonso received the ball on the left, cut inside, and delivered a cross that Hugo Sandoval met with a powerful header to secure all three points for the Apertura champions.
