The maquila regime in Paraguay is experiencing its best moment, driven by the apparel sector. The alliance between Texcin and the Dass group resulted in Dass-Tex, which has already invested over US$40 million and plans to create 1,200 jobs. The maquila sector in Paraguay, especially apparel, is undergoing a phase of accelerated expansion, with the arrival of new global brands and the enlargement of already installed plants. Texcin president Andrés Gwyn stated that the regime is going through "its best moment," driven by the segment that generates the most industrial jobs in the country.

Texcin, a company with 100% Paraguayan capital and a pioneer in the maquila model, entered into a strategic alliance with the Dass group, one of the world's largest manufacturers of sporting goods. This partnership gave rise to Dass-Tex, installed on Paraguayan soil since December 2025, focusing on the manufacture of high-standard sportswear for the international market.

The project foresees investments exceeding US$40 million, directed mainly toward industrial infrastructure and cutting-edge technology. "We use a lot of technology, with sewing machines suited to the demands of international brands," Gwyn highlighted. Currently, Dass-Tex employs around 150 people, who join the nearly 500 employees of Texcin. The expansion plan foresees the creation of another 600 positions, totaling approximately 1,200 jobs.

Brands such as Lacoste, FILA, Wrangler, Zara, Puma, Hering, Riachuelo, C&A, Polo Wear, Volcom, Aéropostale, Jazmín Chebar, Rapsodia, Kosiuko, Bowen and Ricardo Almeida already produce in Paraguay under the maquila regime. Soon, sporting segment giants such as Nike, Umbro and Asics are also expected to begin local production, consolidating the country as a regional textile hub.
