Tanker truck robbery in Tebicuary: 27 thousand liters of vegetable oil stolen

Criminals intercepted a tanker truck on route PY10 in Tebicuary and stole 27 thousand liters of vegetable oil. The driver was tied up and the cargo, which was traveling from Caaguazú to Villeta, was taken. The National Police are investigating the case as aggravated robbery.

A tanker truck carrying approximately 27 thousand liters of vegetable oil was the target of a violent robbery in the city of Tebicuary, department of Guairá. The driver, Alberto Rubén Pessoa Bogarín, 27, a resident of Itauguá, was approached by two armed men while making a stop on route PY10.

According to the police report, the criminals were in a white Toyota car. One of them got out armed and forced the driver to resume driving the vehicle. Then the assailants tied up Pessoa Bogarín and took control of the Scania R112 truck, taking the entire load.

The cargo had left Caaguazú bound for Villeta. The National Police are treating the case as aggravated robbery and are conducting operations in the region to locate those responsible and recover the stolen product.
