Inspector Héctor Quintana of the Highway Patrol reported that the traffic operation is concentrated at km 41.7 of Route PY02, within the jurisdiction of Detachment Headquarters No. 3, Deviation to San Bernardino, specifically at the Ypacaraí toll booth.
According to the official report, two payment booths are open in the Capital–Interior direction and six in the Interior–Capital direction, due to the intense return of travelers who spent the weekend in tourist cities and towns in the interior of the country.
The inspector explained that, although long vehicle queues form at certain times, traffic moves steadily and there are no blockages or serious incidents in the region.
Weather conditions are favorable, with good weather throughout the area, contributing to safer traffic on the main route connecting Asunción to the east of the country.
The Highway Patrol advised drivers to drive cautiously, respect speed limits, and maintain distance between vehicles to avoid accidents, especially during peak traffic hours.
The massive return of travelers typically intensifies during Sunday afternoons and evenings, especially on routes linking Asunción to tourist cities in Cordillera and Central. Authorities expect vehicle flow to continue increasing in the coming hours.
