Sanctuary of Mary Help of Christians in Asunción Prepares for Patronal Feast with Intense Schedule

Under the motto "It commits us to the common good," the Sanctuary of Mary Help of Christians in Asunción will hold a non-stop religious day on May 24 with Masses from midnight to 8:30 p.m., coinciding with the Solemnity of Pentecost. The program includes a vigil, a community gathering, and a procession closing the Marian month.

The Catholic community of Asunción is preparing to celebrate, on May 24, the patronal feast of Mary Help of Christians at the sanctuary dedicated to the Virgin, administered by the Salesian Community. Under the motto “It commits us to the common good,” this year the date will have special significance as it coincides with the Solemnity of Pentecost, uniting two important religious celebrations.

As a prelude, on the night of May 23, a Eucharistic adoration vigil will be held. On Sunday, Masses will begin at midnight and continue non-stop from 5 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., with scheduled times at midnight, 5 a.m., 6 a.m., 7 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:15 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8:30 p.m.

The festive program also includes the traditional Gathering of Mary Help of Christians, scheduled for May 29, as a space for fellowship among devotees, collaborators, and members of the sanctuary community. The activities will conclude on May 31 with the procession of Mary Help of Christians through the streets, closing the Marian month and renewing the expression of popular faith.
