Public health in Paraguarí records over 63,000 consultations in April

The IX Health Region – Paraguarí released its April 2026 balance with 63,412 consultations, 5,904 imaging exams, and 266 surgeries, reinforcing the decentralization of care.

The public health system in the department of Paraguarí reached 63,412 medical consultations in April 2026, according to official data from the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare (MSPyBS). The balance of the IX Health Region – Paraguarí shows strengthening of coverage in hospitals and Family Health Units (USF).

The higher-complexity facilities — general hospitals, district hospitals, and health posts — performed 38,852 consultations, of which 25,619 were scheduled outpatient visits and 13,219 were emergency visits. Extramural actions and teleconsultations were also carried out to reach vulnerable communities.

The 60 USF distributed throughout the department totaled 24,560 visits, with emphasis on 20,464 external consultations, in addition to home visits, extramural activities, teleconsultations, and emergency coverage.

In the area of diagnostic imaging, 5,904 exams were performed, including X-rays, ultrasounds, and preventive mammograms. The regional public hospital network also performed 266 high-complexity surgeries, reducing the need for transfers to the capital and speeding up care for patients in Paraguarí.
