Paraguay's Public Prosecutor's Office is conducting forensic analysis, with support from geologists of Brazil's Federal Police, to determine the origin of nearly 22 kg of gold seized at Silvio Pettirossi International Airport. Samples were collected at the National Development Bank and in a mining area in Paso Yobái, Guairá. The shipment, valued at about US$ 3 million, was reportedly destined for Panama and allegedly involved complicity by local employees.
