Despite the low temperatures recorded in recent days, the Director of Risk Management at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG), Édgar Mayeregger, stated that there have been no frosts with significant impact on agricultural production. He warns that crops such as second-crop corn, second-crop soybeans, chia, sugarcane, and pastures remain vulnerable, and monitoring continues given the forecast of persistent cold.

Low temperatures recorded in recent days in Caaguazú are already causing significant losses for small vegetable farmers, especially those growing cucumbers in open fields. In Coronel Oviedo, farmers report near-total losses in exposed crops, while crops protected by greenhouses remain intact. The Directorate of Agrarian Extension (DEAg) says it is monitoring the situation and will send technicians to assess the damage.
