The court trying former minister Arnaldo Giuzzio has officially received data extracted from the cell phone seized in Brazil from Lindomar Reges Furtado, sentenced to 37 years in prison in the neighboring country for drug trafficking. The information was disclosed by journalist Aldo Insfrán.
With the documentation in hand, the Specialized Court for Organized Crime must appoint expert translators to convert the content into Spanish before its presentation in the oral and public trial. Giuzzio is charged with aggravated passive bribery for allegedly having received favors from drug trafficker Marcus Vinicius Espíndola Marqués de Pauda.
The judges had already authorized the use of Furtado's cell phone data as evidence. The continuation of the trial is scheduled for this Thursday, with the presentation of new documentary evidence.
