Man Found Dead with Gunshot Wound Inside Burned Car in Cambyretá

A 28-year-old man was discovered dead inside a fully incinerated car in Cambyretá, Itapúa, with a bullet wound to the head. Authorities are investigating the case as a homicide.

Authorities in Cambyretá, Itapúa, are investigating a suspected homicide after the body of a man was found inside a burned vehicle on Saturday evening. The victim, identified as Francisco Alcides Saucedo Quiñónez, 28, a resident of Encarnación, was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head and his body completely charred.

The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. in the Barrero Guazú neighborhood, a wooded area. Police were alerted to a vehicle fire and responded to the scene, where they found a Toyota Auris 2006, pearl-colored, engulfed in flames. Firefighters from the Bomberos Voluntarios de Cambyretá extinguished the blaze and subsequently discovered the body inside the passenger compartment.

Saucedo was wearing a black Olimpia club shirt and black shorts. The vehicle had not been reported stolen, and its owner has no criminal record, according to police reports.

The case is being handled by prosecutor Giovanna Vera, with investigators and criminalistics personnel from the area involved. The body has been taken to the morgue at the Hospital General de Itapúa for further examination.
