The case of filicide followed by suicide that occurred this Sunday in Lambaré, which claimed the life of a mother and her 7-year-old son, took on new dimensions with the discovery of a farewell letter. The text, also shared by the woman on her WhatsApp status before the outcome, became a denunciation of alleged sexual abuse and systematic mistreatment of the minor by the biological father, from whom she was separated.
Officers from the 4th Police Station of Lambaré and Criminalistics personnel carried out the initial procedure, under the direction of the duty prosecutor from the Public Ministry, Nora Cubilla. The criminal investigation now focuses on the context revealed by the writing, which indicates that the mother's drastic decision was the result of unbearable suffering and despair in the face of a lack of effective responses from the authorities.
The woman recorded that the boy had been a victim of abuse since the age of 3 and described serious episodes of physical mistreatment, including being locked up and deprived of food, a situation allegedly known to the paternal grandmother. The mother also stated that the case had already been formally reported at the 4th Police Station of Lambaré and forwarded to a prosecutor's office in the city, with the minor awaiting a scheduled psychological evaluation.
Excerpts from the letter reflect the victim's pain over the psychological aftermath for her son and the apparent impunity of the accused. “My heart can no longer bear so much pain, so much suffering, and seeing my son suffer. There is not a single day when he does not remember everything that disgusting person did to him,” she wrote, highlighting the emotional collapse that allegedly led her to the decision.
The woman also criticized the judicial system, linking the tragedy to institutional neglect. “Today my heart bleeds with pain because I can't take it anymore (…) I hope that after my death I receive justice.”
