Students from Colegio San José in Ciudad del Este, Alto Paraná, were involved in a physical fight during a parade on Thursday morning marking the 215th anniversary of Paraguay's independence, according to a report by Ultima Hora.
The altercation between two students occurred in full view of the public during the school's participation in the civic-military parade. The school's governing council later released a statement expressing regret over the incident, emphasizing that it does not reflect the values of respect, camaraderie, and coexistence that the institution promotes daily.
In its statement, the school disclosed that one of the students involved has a neurodevelopmental condition, a situation that the institution says it is aware of and has been supporting as part of its commitment to inclusive education, respect for diversity, and comprehensive student care. The council urged the community to act with prudence, empathy, and responsibility, avoiding judgments or unnecessary exposure that could affect the well-being and dignity of the minors.
The school added that it is working with the families and the relevant technical team, prioritizing dialogue, support, and pedagogical actions to strengthen school coexistence.
