In a recent feature, Paraguayan outlet ABC Color presented a recipe for waffles with dulce de leche and nuts, designed as a special treat for Mother's Day. The recipe, created by Ana María Gómez Silgueira, yields four servings and combines simple ingredients for a sweet and crunchy dessert.

The preparation begins by sifting together 1½ cups of cornstarch, ½ teaspoon of fine salt, and 2 teaspoons of powdered sugar. Three eggs are separated, with the yolks beaten until frothy and then mixed with 1 cup of milk and 3 tablespoons of melted butter (cooled to avoid curdling the yolks). The sifted dry ingredients are incorporated into the yolk mixture. Separately, the egg whites are beaten to stiff peaks and gently folded into the batter.

The waffle iron is heated, and a small amount of batter is poured in. Once cooked, the waffles are served topped with dulce de leche and chopped nuts. ABC Color notes that the recipe is ideal for a Mother's Day breakfast or afternoon snack, offering a homemade way to honor mothers.
