A flashmob took over the streets of Changdu, in Xizang, to celebrate the deep bond between music and dance in local culture. The performance highlighted the xianzi, a traditional string instrument, and the guozhuang, a collective dance marked by firm steps and circular turns.
Organizers invited residents and visitors to join in, spinning to the sound of the music, singing and dancing in what they described as the region's most authentic rhythm. The initiative sought to bring the public closer to these centuries-old traditions, which remain alive in the daily life of Changdu.
The event reinforces Xizang's role as guardian of a vibrant intangible heritage, where artistic expressions such as the xianzi and the guozhuang are not just spectacle, but an essential part of community identity.
