Alejandro Silva's home in Luque robbed while he was on vacation in Brazil

Uruguayan player Alejandro Silva, a former Olimpia midfielder, had his home at the Country Club Montesol in Luque robbed while he was on vacation in Brazil, with the criminals making off a safe containing approximately 3,000 dollars, three Tag Heuer watches, and jewelry.

Uruguayan midfielder Alejandro Silva, who played for Olimpia, was the victim of a million-dollar robbery at his home in Country Club Montesol, a gated community in Luque, near Silvio Pettirossi Airport. The criminals took advantage of the player and his family's absence — they were on vacation in Brazil — to break into the house and steal valuables.

The crime was discovered on Monday morning by one of the athlete's employees, who went to the residence to feed the dogs and noticed that the lock on a tempered glass window had been forced open. National Police officers who responded to the scene determined that the perpetrators had stolen a safe containing approximately $3,000 in cash, as well as three high-end Tag Heuer watches and jewelry.

Initial investigative leads suggest that the criminals may have taken advantage of the entry of workers who were carrying out construction on the property the previous Friday. Silva's driver was the one who raised the alarm after finding signs of forced entry.

Agents from the Department of Criminalistics and Investigations carried out evidence collection at the scene and are now working on analyzing security camera footage from the complex to identify those responsible. The case was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office, which has opened the corresponding proceedings to determine whether there was prior planning or surveillance of the player's movements.

Investigators have drawn attention to the fact that the robbery took place in a condominium that has a gatehouse and a guard responsible for recording the details of everyone who enters the premises.
