An American tourist was detained by police in Coronel Bogado, Itapúa department, after being reported for taking photographs of an exotic plant in front of a private residence. The incident occurred last week when Christopher Chuchik, nicknamed "Yanki," stopped his Volkswagen Polo to take pictures of the vegetation.
The action aroused suspicion among area residents, who contacted the Sixth Police Station. Officers arrived at the scene and took the foreign citizen in for questioning.
