A large Argentine commercial mission is underway in Paraguay, with about 100 businesspeople and executives exploring business opportunities, mainly in the food and beverage sectors. The Argentine ambassador to Paraguay, Guillermo Nielsen, highlighted that a delegation of this magnitude had never been seen before in the country.
The delegation consists of 57 Argentine companies and 93 participants, including businesspeople and officials. Among the sectors represented are processed foods, healthy products, gluten-free items (TACC), gourmet products, and a significant participation from the wine sector, with 13 wineries present.
The event began on Wednesday and extends through Thursday, with a schedule that included a meeting with Paraguay's Minister of Industry and Commerce, Marco Riquelme. The main activity will be a business round and networking session scheduled for Thursday at the Dazzler hotel in Asunción, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with B2B meetings between Argentine companies and their Paraguayan counterparts.
Josefina Otero, president of the Paraguay-Argentina Chamber of Commerce, explained that the mission's objective is to seek partners in Paraguay to distribute products manufactured in Argentina and open new trade channels. The Argentine embassy officially confirmed the numbers and focus of the initiative, which aims to strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
