Artificial intelligence will be the focus of the third edition of the Taiwan–Paraguay Technology Forum, scheduled for September 11 and 12, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the convention hall of the Central Bank of Paraguay (BCP) in Asunción.

According to the organizers, the event will bring together representatives of academia, companies, public agencies and international organizations. The program includes conferences, expert panels, research presentations and networking opportunities.

Topics include Industry 4.0 and business productivity, energy, smart agriculture, digital health, logistics, financial innovation, cybersecurity and digital government. The objective is to discuss how AI can be applied to increase productivity, create skilled jobs and improve public and private services in the country.

According to the organizers, there will be experts from Paraguay, Taiwan, Argentina, Brazil and Chile. The target audience includes businesspeople, public officials, researchers, students, entrepreneurs and technology professionals, as well as people interested in the development of artificial intelligence.

Participation will be free, but prior registration is required and attendance is subject to venue capacity.

UPTP Rector Jorge Duarte said the event has established itself as a space for debate on how Paraguay can harness emerging technologies for its productive development, using Taiwan’s technological advancement strategy as a reference.

The forum began in 2024, with discussions on cybersecurity, sustainability and emerging technologies. In 2025, the second edition took place in Ciudad del Este and was devoted to semiconductors and Taiwan’s model of technological development.

A bill declaring the third edition a matter of national interest was also presented in the Senate, highlighting the event as a space for scientific and technological cooperation between Paraguay and Taiwan. The measure, however, is a legislative proposal and does not change the program or guarantee public funds for the event.
