At 93, Lilia Piatti becomes Doctor of Education from INAES

At 93, Lilia Piatti earned the title of Doctor of Education after successfully defending her thesis at the National Institute of Higher Education "Dr. Raúl Peña" (INAES). The defense took place on Tuesday in the institution's Multipurpose Hall.

The work, titled "Impact of the digital divide on andragogical learning of adult university students who use video platforms as educational tools", received the highest grade from the examination board. The panel was composed of the general director, Professor Dr. Claudelina Marín, and Doctors Derlis Martínez and Rubén Argüello.

The research addresses the difficulties faced by adults in using digital tools for learning, a topic that Piatti herself experienced during the pandemic when she had to adapt to technology during a master's degree. After the defense, she celebrated emotionally: "You can now call me doctor".

The achievement of the new graduate from INAES's postgraduate program carries a clear message: it's never too late to pursue an academic dream.
