The Ministry of Labor, in partnership with the River and Maritime Shipowners Center (Cafym), is promoting the first job fair focused on the naval sector this Thursday. The event starts at 8 a.m. at the Directorate-General of Employment headquarters, located at Avenida Perú and Río de Janeiro in Asunción, and offers 87 vacancies across ten companies in the field.
According to an official statement, the initiative responds to sustained growth in naval activity, which demands qualified labor for new positions. The participating companies are: Hidrovías del Paraguay SA, Interbarge de Paraguay SRL, Naviera Chaco SRL, LHG Navegación SA, Cargo Line Paraguay SA, Navemar SA, Girona SA, Paramar SA, Paranave SA, and UABL PY.
The vacancies include 33 for deckhand, 18 for greaser, and 11 for cook. There are also opportunities for barge master (4), chief engineer (3), apprentice deckhand (3), southern river pilot (3), and river pilot (2). Additionally, positions are available for onboard technology analyst TL (1), relevant chief engineer (1), boilermaker/welder (1), planning analyst (1), captain (1), commercial representative (1), forwarding operations assistant (1), driver (1), apprentice greaser (1), and HSEQ analyst (1).
During the fair, interviews will be held with company representatives. Students from the National Professional Promotion Service (SNPP) will also participate, with profiles evaluated for possible referral to the hiring companies. The vacancies are already published on the EmpleaPy portal, with requirements and salary ranges varying from the legal minimum to around 6 million guaraníes.
