Cambyretá reactivates lookout point and transforms it into a new cultural center under the leadership of Mayor Jaime Hinterleitner

Under the leadership of Mayor Jaime Hinterleitner, the district of Cambyretá in Itapúa has revived its iconic Mirador, transforming it into a new cultural center featuring exhibitions, an educational area, and panoramic access via an elevator, while planning to extend opening hours and revitalize the adjacent amphitheater to boost tourism and community integration.

The district of Cambyretá, in the department of Itapúa, has taken a major step toward strengthening its cultural and tourist identity with the reopening of its iconic overlook, which will now function as a new cultural center. The initiative is led by the municipal administration under Mayor Jaime Hinterleitner, who underscored the importance of reclaiming public spaces to promote art, tourism, and family togetherness.

Originally conceived as a tourist attraction, the site will gain new life through cultural and recreational offerings aimed at both residents and visitors. In addition to hosting art exhibitions, the space will feature an interactive area designed primarily for children and early childhood and elementary school students, with the goal of fostering learning and knowledge of local history.

Initially, the overlook will remain open Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. However, plans are already in place to extend operating hours until 8:00 p.m. and to incorporate weekend activities, aiming to boost the district’s tourist and cultural flow. One of the main attractions will be elevator access to the top, where families can enjoy a panoramic view of the region.

The municipal government also announced that it is working jointly with cultural representatives and residents to beautify the amphitheater located in front of the overlook. The goal is to establish a permanent venue for festivals, artistic gatherings, and various community activities.
