A savory cake-shaped presentation of chipa, assembled like a giant sandwich with chipa dough, ham and cheese, drew comments from Paraguayan users after being shared on social media. The preparation is offered by some businesses in Argentina.

The image was shared on X by the user @klezaru, who wrote that she had found the idea on Instagram and that it would be her next birthday cake. Users commented on the combination and presentation. Some said they preferred chipa filled with ham and cheese, four-cheese chipa or a version of mbeju; others mentioned how difficult it would be to eat the preparation without the filling spilling out.

Some comments also addressed the preparation’s temperature. One user said they would buy it out of curiosity if it were similar to hot chipa, but would have no interest if it were served cold. The individual comments were made jokingly and critically, including phrases such as “a Paraguayan sees this and vomits” and “I obviously vomited.”

Chipa is a traditional Paraguayan food made from cassava starch and cheese. The cake- or savory-pie-shaped version appears with fillings such as ham and cheese, while other suggestions mentioned in the comments included different combinations and filled mbeju.

In Corrientes Capital, the business Chipacitos prepares made-to-order chipas shaped like numbers. The company Lo Artesanal, from General Rodríguez in Buenos Aires province, offers a savory chipa-cake presentation with fillings such as ham and cheese.
