EBY invests G. 3 billion in rehabilitation center for drug addicts in Encarnación

The Yacyretá Binational Entity (EBY) announced an investment of about 3 billion guaranis in the construction of a rehabilitation and containment center for people with chemical dependency and alcoholism problems, in the Pacu Cua neighborhood of Encarnación. The work will be fully funded by EBY, while the Ministry of Public Health will be responsible for the professionals, supplies, and operation of the future center.

National and regional authorities participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for a rehabilitation and containment center for people with chemical dependency and alcoholism, on the grounds of the Pacu Cua section in Encarnación. The project, fully funded by the Yacyretá Binational Entity (EBY), will involve an investment of approximately 3 billion guaranis.

EBY director Luis Benítez highlighted the importance of the initiative: “We know that today we have many problems of dependency and alcoholism at the national level. These centers will be fundamental to offer containment and comprehensive care,” he said.

The Ministry of Public Health will be in charge of providing the professionals, supplies, and ensuring the unit’s operation. Benítez also announced that other health works are ongoing in the department of Itapúa, such as the expansion of the San Pedro Family Health Unit (USF), which is already significantly advanced.

With this center, Encarnación positions itself among the first cities in the country to have specialized infrastructure for the care and recovery of people with addictions.
