Twelve Peruvian companies landed in Asunción this week to showcase a wide range of products and open new business fronts with the Paraguayan market. The gathering, held in the auditorium of the Edificio Park Plaza, brought together entrepreneurs from both countries for negotiation rounds and sectoral displays.
The trade mission was organized by the Embassy of Peru in Paraguay, the Exporters Association of Peru (ADEX), and the Peruvian Foreign Ministry, with support from the Paraguayan-Peruvian Chamber of Commerce and the logistics company New Master Transport (MNA).
During the exhibition, visitors were able to see items such as silverware, snacks, turkey meat, gelatins, and textiles, among other segments. The initiative included spaces for direct interaction to foster strategic alliances and long-term trade relationships.
Peru's ambassador to Paraguay, María Antonia Masana, said the main goal of the mission is to promote mutual knowledge among businesspeople. "We want Paraguayan entrepreneurs to get to know Peruvian ones and vice versa, and to realize the potential and quality of Peruvian products that can enter the Paraguayan market," she stated.
The diplomat noted that the economies of Peru and Paraguay are complementary, which favors exchange without generating direct competition between productive sectors. Currently, the two countries are developing four joint projects in the areas of tourism, country image, gastronomy, and metrology, while Paraguay cooperates with Peru on initiatives related to orchids and livestock.
"In the realm of international trade, the goal is for more Peruvian products to enter Paraguay and for Paraguayan products to also reach Peru," Masana added.
