President Santiago Peña has proposed a bill to eliminate the 3% upfront payment for rural land titling in Paraguay, making it easier for thousands of farming families to obtain property titles and extending payment terms to up to 20 years for men and 30 years for women.

Under the leadership of Mayor Jaime Hinterleitner, the district of Cambyretá in Itapúa has revived its iconic Mirador, transforming it into a new cultural center featuring exhibitions, an educational area, and panoramic access via an elevator, while planning to extend opening hours and revitalize the adjacent amphitheater to boost tourism and community integration.

For seven years, families in Bella Vista, Itapúa, have suffered constant ash and coal dust falling from a local industry. Resident Nancy Maldonado says the problem worsens with the wind, soiling homes and clothes, and has been reported to the city hall without concrete measures being taken. Neighbors are calling for urgent intervention from authorities and environmental controls.
