The Food Bank Paraguay (BAPY) will hold its Annual Dinner next Wednesday, August 26, at 8 p.m. at Talleyrand Costanera in Asunción. The event, themed "PlatesThatMultiply," aims to gather 500 supporters to fund the distribution of 76,500 meals.
The funds raised will enable the delivery of food to a network of 165 social organizations, including shelters, daycare centers, community kitchens, hospitals, and nursing homes, which serve more than 52,000 people in vulnerable situations across seven departments of the country.
José San Martín, president of BAPY, emphasized the initiative's impact. "A shared plate is a transformed future. Multiplying food means multiplying opportunities: every shared plate becomes strength to continue advancing in our mission against hunger," he stated.
The dinner is one of the organization's main funding sources, alongside the Annual Food Drive. In addition to being an evening of gastronomy and entertainment with live shows, the event serves as a platform to attract new allies, volunteers, and donors for the cause.
The organization has operated for 22 years as a bridge between companies, producers, and social institutions, aligning its mission with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
