The flow of Brazilian entrepreneurs seeking opportunities in Paraguay has intensified in recent months, with delegations arriving from different regions of Brazil almost every week. This assessment comes from Fabio Fustagno, president of the Paraguay-Brazil Chamber of Commerce (CCPB), who describes a broad and diversified interest.
“There is not a week in which we do not receive a delegation of Brazilian entrepreneurs, over the last 12 months and, literally, since January 2, because on January 2 we received Brazilian delegations coming from different states and different sectors of Brazil,” Fustagno said. He added that the groups come both from nearby states and from more distant regions, all seeing Paraguay as a production alternative.
Among the sectors drawing the most attention, the leader highlighted textiles, auto parts, and metallurgy. The real estate segment also appears strong, especially the purchase of apartments in Asunción and Ciudad del Este. “There is a lot of interest in vertical properties, apartments. We are even working with the Paraguayan Chamber of Real Estate Developers (Capadei) to organize a mission from Paraguay to offer that segment there, to keep maintaining growth in construction,” he explained.
In the agricultural field, land acquisition continues to attract investors, driven by price differences: while in Brazil a hectare can cost between US$20,000 and US$25,000, in Paraguay values range from US$10,000 to US$15,000. In the food sector, Fustagno mentioned the consolidation of operations such as JBS in poultry production, which has been strengthening its supply chain, in addition to frequent inquiries about service maquila.
