Paraguay Attracts Over 3,000 Brazilian Businesspeople at Event in Florianópolis

Paraguay's Deputy Minister of Industry, Javier Viveros, took part in the Conexa 2026 event in Florianópolis, where he presented investment opportunities in the country to more than 3,000 Brazilian businesspeople, highlighting the maquila and real estate sectors.

Paraguay is consolidating itself as a strategic destination for Brazilian investors. On Monday, Deputy Minister of Industry Javier Viveros participated in the Conexa 2026 event in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, where he presented the advantages of investing in the country to an audience of more than 3,000 businesspeople from Brazil.

“We are starting an agenda in the state of Santa Catarina. Today we will take part in an event with more than 3,000 businesspeople interested in learning more about Paraguay. In the Paraguayan government, we are confident that integrating the region's value chain is the way to generate more opportunities for our people,” Viveros said in a video posted on social media.

The deputy minister's talk, titled “Paraguay on the Rise: Opportunities and Connections for Brazil,” took place on Monday afternoon and covered the country's tax and logistics benefits. The Conexa 2026 event brings together Brazilian executives and business leaders and runs through Tuesday.

The sectors currently generating the most interest are the maquila industries — in various areas — and the real estate market, according to the president of the Paraguay-Brazil Chamber of Commerce, Fabio Fustagno. The statement was made in a recent interview, without independent corroboration.

Paraguay has attracted a wave of Brazilian migrants seeking to start businesses and invest, driven by tax incentives and lower operating costs. Viveros's participation in Conexa 2026 reinforces the Paraguayan government's strategy of strengthening economic ties with Brazil.
