A mega poultry production plant called Pollos Blanco, developed by the Brazilian company JBS, was inaugurated in J. Eulogio Estigarribia, in the Caaguazú department. The investment for building the poultry farm in the former Campo 9 was approximately 185 million dollars.

The facility has an initial capacity to slaughter more than 100,000 chickens per day, with a projected expansion that could reach 300,000 animals daily. This expansion aims to strengthen the national poultry sector and increase Paraguay’s export capacity.

During the inauguration, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Marco Riquelme, emphasized that JBS’s arrival represents a strategic opportunity for the development of the local industry and to take advantage of the opening of new international markets, such as Taiwan, which was recently authorized for the export of Paraguayan chicken meat.

Furthermore, the project is expected to generate more than 780 direct jobs in Caaguazú, also creating new opportunities for small and medium producers who will be able to integrate into the poultry production chain.
