CV Emalsa Gran Canaria confirmed on Monday the renewal of Cuban middle blocker Laura Suárez's contract for another season, extending the link until 2027. The player, who has been with the club since the 2022/2023 season, has become a fundamental piece in the team's defensive system.
According to an official club statement, Suárez stood out for her consistency, work ethic and contribution in decisive moments of the competitions. The Cuban was part of the most successful period in the recent history of Emalsa Gran Canaria, which in 2024 won the Copa de la Reina, the Liga Iberdrola and the Supercopa de España.
The renewal comes amid a squad overhaul, with the departures of Ajack Malual, Blanca Arcos, Bolivian Fernanda Maida, Brazilian Marina Scherer, American opposite Katie Corelli and her compatriot Meg Brown.
