Paraguay's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rubén Ramírez Lezcano, met with Ambassador Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun, the U.S. Department of State's Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism. The meeting took place in Washington during the Ministerial Meeting on the Resurgence of Political Terrorism.
The officials discussed the harmful effects of antisemitism and agreed on the need to strengthen actions to prevent and combat the phenomenon. They also explored opportunities for academic cooperation to promote education, research, and awareness in the fight against antisemitism and the promotion of human rights.
Kaploun was appointed to the position by U.S. President Donald Trump, with the mission of advancing international initiatives against antisemitic manifestations and in favor of religious freedom and peaceful coexistence.
