Paraguay's Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC) has officially presented the Validador PY, a new digital platform that will allow for the verification of the authenticity of signatures and electronic certificates issued not only in the country but also in the other Mercosur member states: Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay.
The launch took place on Wednesday and was led by the Vice Minister of Commerce and Services, Alberto Sborovsky, who highlighted that the tool aims to "close the door on bureaucracy." He explained that the system resolves a critical issue swiftly, offering legal certainty in seconds about the validity of a digital document.
The implementation of the Validador PY is made possible thanks to the Mercosur Agreement on the Mutual Recognition of Digital Signature Certificates, which is in force among the countries of the bloc. This promotes regional interoperability and reinforces security in cross-border electronic transactions.
At the same event, the MIC also launched an updated version of the Registry of Providers and Services (Repse), dubbed Repse 2.0. According to Sborovsky, the new platform incorporates significant technological improvements to streamline registrations and renewals, with the stated goal of combating informality in the services sector, which represents about half of Paraguay's economy.
The vice minister stated that the previous version of Repse "ended up hindering those trying to formalize," while the new tool removes these barriers. "For those who want to formalize, it will no longer be a punishment, but the key to accessing markets that are currently closed," he declared.
Technical officials from the General Directorate of Trade in Services detailed that Repse 2.0 offers greater availability, stability, and security, allowing it to serve a larger number of simultaneous users and optimizing access to the services offered by the ministry.
