Paraguay will host the annual meeting of the Mercosur Chambers of Commerce Council on May 28, an event that will bring together business leaders from the bloc's countries to discuss economic integration and regional competitiveness. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. at the Casa de la Integración of CAF-Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean in Asunción, with the National Chamber of Commerce and Services of Paraguay (CNCSP) as host, holding the pro tempore presidency of the Council.
Representatives and presidents of the main chambers of commerce from Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Bolivia will take part. The agenda includes intra-zone trade facilitation, strengthening logistics infrastructure, and reducing bureaucratic barriers that affect competitiveness and regional integration. "This is an important moment for the private sector to strengthen its role in the regional integration process," organizers emphasize, highlighting the need to advance consensus that boosts trade and investment within the bloc.
A dialogue session is planned with authorities from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC) and the National Foreign Ministry, focused on public policies for productive development and regional integration. At the end of the day, business representatives will sign a Joint Declaration consolidating the main consensus and priorities of Mercosur's private sector, aimed at fostering greater economic coordination among member countries.
