Paraguay will again take part in a trade-promotion activity in Italy on October 19, 2026, focused on food and wine companies. The event is planned for Castello di Solfagnano in the Umbria region and will seek to connect Paraguayan producers with potential European buyers, investors and partners.
The program is also open to gastronomy and wine professionals. It includes planned visits to vineyards, demonstrations of production processes, and tastings of wines, extra-virgin olive oil and other regional Italian products. Organizers said they may provide up to three nights of accommodation for participants, subject to availability.
The initiative is organized by the Embassy of Italy in Paraguay and the Italian-Paraguayan Chamber of Commerce, chaired by Fernando Beconi, with support from Paraguay’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), the government body responsible for industry and trade policy.
The aim is to promote the internationalization of Paraguayan companies and explore opportunities for exports, investment and new business. For the wine sector, the program could help establish commercial contacts in an Italian region known for its winemaking tradition.
The event will follow a presentation of Paraguay held in Genoa in June. According to remarks attributed to the Italian ambassador in a local report, the series of activities is part of efforts to strengthen economic, business and cultural ties between the two countries.
The planned activity in Umbria combines business meetings with an immersive experience in Italy’s production chain. Paraguayan businesspeople will be able to learn about suppliers and production methods, while any potential routes into the Italian market will depend on subsequent contacts and negotiations.
The program is also part of the international promotion strategy associated with the government of President Santiago Peña. According to the local report, the Italian ambassador highlighted Paraguay’s international positioning and bilateral meetings between representatives of the two countries. The activity is promotional and focused on networking; it does not mean that exports, investments or business deals have been secured.
