The Paraguayan Antique Vehicle Club (CVAP) is making final preparations for the fourth stage of the 2026 National Regularity Championship for Antique, Classic, and Sports Cars, the Jesuit Route Rally, scheduled for September 5 and 6.
The route will be approximately 530 kilometers, divided into two stages, and will bring together around 50 vehicles, with participants from across the country. Registrations remain open until September 1, when the technical and administrative verification of the cars will also take place.
In an interview, CVAP president Juan Bautista Gill explained that the competition is one of regularity, not speed. The goal is to maintain a pre-defined average of 81 km/h, with a maximum speed of 88 km/h, always within legal limits. Precision is crucial: passing a control point one second before or after the ideal time can define the difference between victory and defeat.
Gill described the discipline as "chess on wheels," highlighting the importance of the harmony between driver and navigator, who work as a team to constantly adjust speeds and times. He also emphasized the growth of the antique car culture in Paraguay, centered on historical preservation and camaraderie.
Beyond competitions, the CVAP promotes parades on patriotic dates, exhibitions, technical meetings, and charitable actions. The choice of the Jesuit Route as the setting is due to the region's beauty, the quality of its roads and hotels, and its tourist appeal.
The public has responded with enthusiasm, attending the events with their families and celebrating the passage of the vehicles as a popular festival that combines mechanical nostalgia and domestic tourism.
