Police authorities have made another seizure of firearm parts and accessories at the Silvio Pettirossi International Airport. The shipment, originating from Miami, USA, was declared as electronic products but contained items such as magazines and sights for AR-15 rifles and pistols from the brands Glock and SIG Sauer.

Commissioner Luis Pizzani, head of the Airport Police Department, explained that the detection occurred during a thorough inspection in the air cargo sector. The package had a declared destination of Ciudad del Este in the Alto Paraná department, but police suspect the final destination was Brazil, to supply criminal factions operating in the neighboring country.

Pizzani emphasized that this practice of concealing weapon parts in shipments of common goods, like electronics or appliances, has become common. The goal is to send the parts in different batches to avoid raising suspicion and facilitate illegal distribution.
