José Doldán and Milder Núñez, members of Cooperativa Poravoty Ltda., were acquitted of all charges and penalties in a first-instance ruling in a defamation case. The final ruling will be issued on October 1, 2026.
The case is linked to peaceful demonstrations by savers outside Pedro Loblein’s residence in San Lorenzo, when he was the cooperative’s general manager. The first-instance decision found that the protests caused no damage to property or people.
Loblein chaired the National Institute of Cooperativism (Incoop), the state body that oversees the cooperative sector, from 2020 to 2023. In February 2024, he began working as a financial adviser to Poravoty and, in October that year, took over as general manager.
The cooperative is undergoing liquidation after a misappropriation of funds. Judge Lourdes Llano Villalba of Single-Judge Trial Court No. 2 was responsible for hearing the evidence presented against Doldán and Núñez. The first-instance ruling was attributed to Judge Lourdes Peña.
