The Tripartite Command, a police cooperation mechanism among Paraguay, Brazil, and Argentina in the Triple Border region, celebrated 30 years of joint action in a ceremony held at the Mangoré Cultural Center in Ciudad del Este. During the event, which marked the 352nd general meeting of the body, the Paraguayan delegation transferred the pro tempore presidency to Argentina.
The alliance is considered a fundamental pillar for security in the border area, operating through intelligence, prevention, and constant coordination against transnational crimes. In Paraguay, the structure is linked to the Department of International Police Cooperation Agreements and Conventions.
Deputy Commissioner Fabio Santa Cruz, head of the Paraguayan division of the Command, highlighted the entity's growth over the three decades. He stated that institutional modernization processes optimized the use of intelligence data, enabling direct arrests and more effective resolution of complex cases on an international scale.
