ATOME announced progress in developing a solar photovoltaic power generation project of up to 300 MWp near its green fertilizer plant in Villeta, Paraguay.

The company said its ATOME Power division, dedicated to renewable energy and battery storage solutions, reached an agreement with a dollar-denominated funding fund managed by a multilateral development bank.

The agreement provides financial and technical support, subject to meeting certain terms and conditions, for conducting a feasibility study for the solar project. The initiative would be developed on land near ATOME's green fertilizer plant, where the company has extensive areas considered suitable for the venture.

The start of the feasibility study will depend on ATOME Paraguay's progress with the corresponding Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

The company highlighted that the project is part of a broader vision to develop an industrial park based on solar power and battery storage, taking advantage of new industries and activities that could be generated around the green fertilizer plant.

ATOME indicated it will provide a new update on the ATOME Power project once the situation of its subsidiary in Paraguay is resolved.
