Truck Overturns on Silvio Pettirossi Highway After Collision with Car

A traffic accident on the Silvio Pettirossi Highway left a truck overturned and caused material damage. The truck driver was trapped in the cab but suffered only minor injuries.

A traffic accident on Tuesday afternoon resulted in a cargo truck overturning on the Silvio Pettirossi Highway in the metropolitan area of Asunción. Officers from the 3rd Central Police Station were dispatched by the 911 system and responded to the incident, controlling traffic at the scene.

The truck involved is a white Hyundai HD 72, owned by HG Logística, which was transporting products, including coffee. The vehicle was driven by José Rafael Acosta Domínguez, 44, who was trapped inside the cab after the impact. The second vehicle is a Toyota Ractis, driven by Juan Arturo Cornet Ello, 42.

According to police information, the car driver allegedly made a U-turn to enter the highway, causing the truck driver to lose control and overturn on the roadside. Volunteer firefighters rescued the trapped driver, who fortunately suffered only minor injuries.

The case was handled by prosecutor Jorge Escobar, who ordered the release of both vehicles to their owners after the completion of forensic examinations at the scene.
