The Paraguayan Chamber of Express Shipment Companies (Caperex) and the General Directorate of Military Materials (Digemabel), the military body that controls weapons and military materials in Paraguay, maintain a permanent working group to reinforce controls on the entry of these products in courier shipments.
The initiative emerged after a meeting between industry representatives and Digemabel officials. According to the information released, the meeting was held on August 25, 2026. The aim is to maintain an ongoing channel for dialogue and coordination to improve procedures applicable to weapons, military materials and other items subject to special regulation.
The group is expected to pursue clearer, safer and more efficient procedures, enabling companies to correctly identify and manage regulated goods and comply with current rules. The coordination could support Paraguay’s security and regional logistics by reducing risks in the cross-border transport of controlled products.
For Caperex, cooperation between public agencies and formally established companies is essential to prevent irregular operations, strengthen shipment traceability and keep pace with the growth and professionalization of Paraguay’s courier sector.
