Paraguayan TikToker Romi Das stirred discussion on social media after posting a video in which she lists “things about Paraguay that nobody values.” Among the highlights, she cited affordable rent, the ease of opening a business, and freedom of speech—traits she says are rare in other countries.

“You can see a house, like it, have the money, rent it, and that’s it. That doesn’t happen elsewhere,” Romi said in the video. She also emphasized the simplicity of entrepreneurship in Paraguay, mentioning that it is possible to quickly start a business, including offering private lessons or small services. “It’s very easy to start a business,” she stated.

The influencer also highlighted the low tax burden: “The tax rate is very low, just 10%.” According to her, opening a company is also an accessible process. On freedom of speech, Romi commented: “We can calmly record a TikTok talking badly about whoever we want, and no one will say anything to us.”

At the end of the video, Romi lamented that many Paraguayans focus only on the negative aspects of the country. “Everything is just the bad,” she reflected, inviting compatriots to value their homeland.

The post, however, drew backlash. One user commented: “With a minimum wage, you’ll get all that.” The influencer replied: “As the name says, minimum wage is the minimum you can earn, meaning you can earn from there upward.”
