An alarming case is mobilizing authorities in Capitán Bado, in the department of Amambay. Two 9-year-old twin brothers, identified by the initials M.A.B.R. and M.A.B.R., were found on a farm in the Potrerito colony, owned by paternal relatives, presenting a state of sedation due to intoxication. The mother, 26, reported the stepfather, 30, as responsible for taking the children from school around 11 a.m. on Monday and disappearing with them.

According to the mother's account, the man, who was reportedly experiencing depression, did not contact her again. Hours later, an uncle of the minors managed to locate them on the farm, already showing signs of intoxication. The stepfather remains missing.

The twins were initially treated at the District Hospital of Capitán Bado, where the on-duty physician diagnosed “sedation due to intoxication.” Due to the severity, both were transferred to the Regional Hospital of Pedro Juan Caballero for specialized care.

The case was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office, which opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident and determine responsibilities. Officers from the Fourth Police Station are also following the proceedings.
