Agents from Senad and the Joint Task Force destroyed 7,940 kg of marijuana and dismantled seven clandestine camps in Colônia Potrero Sur, Amambay. No arrests were made. The operation was coordinated by anti-drug prosecutor Celso Morales.

A joint operation by the National Anti-Drug Secretariat (Senad) and the Joint Task Force (FTC) resulted in the destruction of nearly eight tons of marijuana and the dismantling of a complex of seven clandestine camps in Colônia Potrero Sur, about 15 km from Pedro Juan Caballero, in the department of Amambay.

According to the official report, 7,040 kg of loose marijuana, packed in 220 bags, and 900 kg of pressed marijuana, in 30 bags, were seized and incinerated. At the site, agents also disabled three iron presses, five hydraulic jacks, and nine rustic sieves used in drug processing.

The camps, interconnected and equipped with food, mattresses, and tools, served as a logistical base for the production and storage of the narcotic. Authorities estimate the financial loss to drug trafficking exceeds one million dollars.

The operation was coordinated by the anti-drug prosecutor of Amambay, Celso Morales, and involved special agents from Senad, personnel from the Special Forces, and the FTC-SAP N° 8. No arrests were made. All evidence was destroyed on site, as per court order, after photographic and video documentation.
