Two 16-year-old teenagers were detained by the National Police in the city of Lambaré, in the Puerto Pabla neighborhood, after attempting to rob a ride-share driver on Monday night. The victim, Nicolasa Patricia Santacruz Ayala, who works for the Bolt platform, reported that the youths approached her with a firearm shortly after she completed a trip that began near the Lambaré District Hospital.

According to the police report, one of the teenagers drew a pistol and pointed it at the driver, demanding that she get out of the car so they could steal the vehicle. Santacruz Ayala then told the assailants that the car had a GPS tracker, which made them abandon the plan and flee the scene.

With them, they seized a compressed air pistol used in the attempted robbery. The two teenagers were taken to the police station and are expected to face charges of attempted aggravated robbery.
