A mother has filed a criminal complaint against event organizer Shanthal Grance, owner of the company “Cuento de Hadas, organización de eventos,” for fraud. According to the complaint, Grance received G. 25,800,000 in cash to organize her daughter's 15th birthday party but disappeared on the day of the event, leaving the venue completely empty.

The contract was signed in October last year, with half the amount paid on April 16 and the remainder in May. On the day of the party, the mother tried to contact Grance in the morning, but she only responded at 3 p.m., claiming she was on her way to the venue in Villa Elisa. She never arrived.

Upon returning from the quinceañera mass, the family found the venue without tables, chairs, or decorations. Only the DJ, hired separately, was set up. The teenager and her mother suffered a breakdown and spent the night in the hospital. “My daughter couldn't share with her friends, she felt unwell. It is unforgivable for me, I felt so much for my guests who were waiting on the street,” the mother said.

The complaint has been filed with the National Police and the Public Prosecutor's Office. The family demands a full refund and that the judiciary act rigorously against the organizer.

In another case, the Senate approved the creation of the National Commission for the Restoration and Enhancement of the House of Serafina Dávalos, Paraguay's first female lawyer. The property, located in downtown Asunción, is in ruins and belongs to the Institute of Social Prevision (IPS). Senator Esperanza Martínez presented images of its current state and highlighted the cleanup carried out by the city. Senator Celeste Amarilla emphasized its historical value, and Lizarella Valiente advocated for its transformation into a cultural center. The bill now goes to the Chamber of Deputies.

Additionally, the National Police recovered two stolen Toyota Hilux pickup trucks in Alto Paraná. One of them, license plate BKG 609, was found abandoned in a soybean field at Km 26 of Route PY02 in Minga Guazú after a chase. The owner, Niséforo Martínez, 78, has been notified.
