National Culture Secretariat convenes Central Regional Forum to debate the National Culture Plan 2050

The National Culture Secretariat (SNC) is holding the Central Regional Forum this Tuesday in Paraguarí, bringing together managers, artists, and cultural organizations from four departments. The meeting is part of the participatory process to formulate the National Culture Plan 2050, which aims to chart the country's cultural course through 2050.

The National Culture Secretariat (SNC) is hosting the Central Regional Forum this Tuesday, a space for dialogue and participatory construction that will bring together representatives from the cultural sector of the departments of Cordillera, Guairá, Caazapá, and Paraguarí. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Governorate of Paraguarí headquarters and is part of the formulation process for the National Culture Plan 2050, an initiative of the Government of Paraguay to guide the country's cultural development in the coming decades.

Throughout the day, dialogue spaces, thematic workshops, and collaborative dynamics focused on territorial analysis are planned. Activities include timeline-building exercises, cultural mapping, and sectoral discussions, aimed at gathering input for the plan's diagnosis and future lines of action.

Topics to be addressed include cultural heritage, cultural spaces and centers, traditional gastronomy, the cultural rights of Indigenous peoples, and professionalization of the sector. There will also be exchanges with academia on knowledge production, art, and cultural industries, as well as the regional integration process linked to MICSUR Paraguay 2026.

According to the SNC, these spaces seek to integrate diverse territorial visions and experiences from the country's cultural sectors, promoting a collective construction of long-term cultural policies based on a cultural rights approach.

The Central Regional Forum is the third territorial meeting held as part of the participatory process for the PNC 2050. Previous forums in the Northern and Southern regions brought together more than 150 cultural stakeholders from different departments.

The formulation of the National Culture Plan 2050 will extend throughout 2026 and will include new regional forums, thematic seminars, sessions with public institutions, sectoral dialogue spaces, and a National Culture Congress, which will take place during Culture Week, in coordination with MICSUR Paraguay 2026.

Those interested in participating in the Central Regional Forum can register through a form available on the official social media channels of the National Culture Secretariat.
