The Minister of the National Secretariat of Culture (SNC), Adriana Ortiz, took part in the third National Forum of Cultural Managers, held at the Government of Paraguarí, and officially launched the National Culture Plan 2050. During the meeting, Ortiz emphasized the importance of moving toward a public cultural policy with greater budget decentralization and citizen participation.
The forum brought together municipal and regional authorities and cultural managers from the departments of Paraguarí, Cordillera, Guairá, and Caazapá. The minister stated that the goal is “to build together the National Culture Plan 2050, a plan aligned with national development and designed to strengthen Paraguayan culture from the regions.”
She highlighted that the initiative seeks to unify the voices of the cultural sector to ensure a budget more suited to existing needs and to promote a decentralized public policy for culture. “Together, we want to watch over Paraguayan culture, so that it never disappears and so that new generations love their Paraguay, their region, their neighborhood, and their city,” she declared.
Ortiz also stressed the leading role of women in cultural management in the interior of the country and stated that cultural activity requires commitment and coordinated work among all sectors.
At the end of the event, cultural managers, municipal authorities, and activists following the process of the National Culture Plan 2050 received certificates of recognition from the SNC. In addition, cultural entrepreneurs exhibited products and artistic experiences, highlighting that production, interaction, and commercialization are also part of Paraguayan cultural identity.
